This is a pretty exciting session for me as it marks my first breakthrough in connecting with a touring, major label musician. It has been something I've been struggling with for quite a while. Many an email are sitting, unanswered in managers inboxes (or deleted bins) as we speak. But finally, after making a good connection through a friend of a friend kinda situation I hooked up with one of the managers at Coalition Entertainment and before I knew it the shoot with Justin was all setup.

I booked the day off work and jumped an early ferry on a sunny friday morning. Well... of course, we get halfway across and the sun isn't so sunny... in fact, it's now looking pretty ugly. My shoot with Justin wasn't until later on in the afternoon though, so I had my hopes up that it would all work out. After strolling around Robson street for a bit and grabbing a bite I decided to head off to Stanley Park and scope out some locations around our meeting area. By the time I got to the park it was sunny and warm... although the entire core was surrounded by big ugly clouds so I was still a bit nervous how the weather would be for the shoot.

After basking in the sunsine and the ambience of Stanley Park for a while I hooked up with Tyler from Claymore Studios that was going to be doing sound for me on this day. Soon after we met Justin and Mark and were off on the shoot. Both really cool guys... really chill. After chatting a bit and getting settled into our first location I knew that this was going to go really well. I could just tell that they both got the vibe of the project and were going to be just fine with just letting all unfold.... and they totally lived up to that.

We had a great time on the shoot... captured some great music and enjoyed in the unique moments that always happen when filming naked.jams sessions. If you aren't yet familiar with Justin's music, you're in for a real treat. He has an incredible voice and such a comfortable approach. It's so obvious that he really really loves what he does and he's coming from a very honest place.

A big thanks to the people from Coalition Entertainment and Warner Music Canada for believing in this proejct and for everything they did to make this shoot happen. Thanks go Tyler for running the audio. And mostly, thanks to Justin and Mark for jumping right in and making this such a great shoot.
