I'd been hearing quite a bit of buzz around the Victoria based band Maurice lately and wanted to approach them about doing a shoot. After I connected with Jean-Paul and told him about the project it all just fell into place. He had a show booked in Nanaimo a couple weeks down the road so we set things up to shoot the afternoon following his show.

We agreed to meet up down at a waterfront park and we'd figure out locations then. Weather was really NOT looking up. Very shortly after we arrived it started to pour and the winds were blowing pretty fierce... so was really starting to doubt if the shoot would even be able to happen. Luckily, it all kinda died down just as we were getting ready to shoot and we were off!!!

JP was actually in the midst of playing a few dates with Jamison Troy & Fisticuffs (aka Jordan Kurtz) so he had them accompany him on the first track. I was totally blown away by the harmonies these guys pulled off.

Thanks to Adam James for doing his thing on the audio for us, and to Music Maxx for continuing to help out with this project.

And, of course, the one and only Jesse Bone Photography was there to document it all with his photo skills. Listen closely and you may just hear a shutter clack or two!
